Parks: Lake Fairfax Park, located in Reston, features an 18-acre lake, the Water Mine - an outdoor swimming pool enveloped by a lazy river; seasonal fishing, campgrounds, picnic areas, trails, party areas, a carousel, and playground. Baron Cameron Park, also in Reston, and Frying Pan Park in Herndon are two other great parks int he region.

Airports: Dulles International Airport is located in Chantilly, Virginia, less than a twenty minute drive from the area. Reagan National Airport is located less than 25 miles from the region as well.

Elementary Schools: Buzz Aldrin Elementary School, located in Reston, is an award winning school that has been recognized by Governor Kaine and The Virginia State Board of Education with the Board of Education Excellence Award for four consecutive years, in 2008-2011. Lutie Lewis Coates Elementary, located in Herndon, and Lake Anne Elementary School, also in Reston, are a few more of our favorites.

Middle Schools: Langston Hughes Middle School is Reston's only middle school and was named for the African-American poet Langston Hughes. Herndon Middle School serves students in grades seven and eight from Herndon and Reston. Carson Middle School is another great middle school located in Herndon.

High Schools: Westfield High School is recognized for its award winning design and is located on a 159-acre site in Chantilly; the school promotes a safe and creative learning environment for students and faculty, and encourages community involvement. South Lakes High School, in Reston, is dedicated to awakening and cultivating the talents in every student. Herndon High School and Centreville High School are two other great public high school options in the region.

Colleges/Universities: George Mason University, is a public university based in unincorporated Fairfax County, south of the city of Fairfax. Additional campuses are located nearby in Arlington County, Prince William County, and Loudoun County as well. Northen Virginia Community College - Loudoun Campus is located in nearby Sterling, Virginia.

Restaurants: Finnegan's Irish Pub is a different type of Irish pub located in the heart of Herndon, in the Woodland Crossing Shopping Center, right in the middle of office buildings and residential communities. Clyde's of Reston opened in 1991 in the thriving Virginia suburb just 10 minutes from Dulles Airport. McCormick & Schmick's Seafood, located in Reston, Jimmy's Old Town Tavern, in Herndon, Copper Canyon Grill, in Centreville, and Bonefish Grill also in Centreville, are a few more of our favorite restaurants in the area.

Sports Venues: Catch a ball game at nearby Nationals Park (approximately 25 miles away), Verizon Center, (approximately 25 miles away) or the Patriot Center (approximately 12 miles away).

Shopping: Reston Town Center offers good restaurants, high end shopping, a movie theater, tons of offices & condos, and is walking distance to anything you could need or want. Worldgate Centre is Herndon's premier entertainment destination with a 9-screen, state-of-the-art theatre, and an ethnically diverse mix of more than a dozen restaurants, cafes and eateries. The center also includes a newly renovated health club, luxurious day spa and an exciting array of unique shops and services.

Museums: The Reston Museum & Shop features long-term exhibits exploring elements of Reston community life as well as rotating exhibits showcasing the work of students of all ages. Also nearby are the world-renowned Smithsonian museums in Washington, DC, like the National Air and Space Museum.

Entertainment: Enjoy a movie night at any of these area theaters: Centreville Twelve, Phoenix Worldgate 9, or the Reston Thirteen.

Recreation: The Reston Community Center, established by the Reston community in 1979, brings the community together through enriching leisure time experiences. Enjoy going to the gym in Centreville at Life Time Fitness or play a game of pool at Fast Eddie's Sports/Billiards, also in Centreville.
