Sports Venues: There are several locations for you to catch a live sporting event in the area. Prince George's Equestrian Center has equestrian events and spectators are free except for the occasional special event. FedEx Field is home to the NFL Washington Redskins and is located in Landover , MD. The Verizon Center in Washington, DC is home to the NBA's Washington Wizards, the NHL's Washington Capitals, the WNBA's Washington Mystics and the NCAA's Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball team. Or you can get in the action at the Wizards Basketball Camps. The Washington Wizards and Mystics Camps & Clinics provide aspiring basketball players, both male and female, with a professional basketball learning experience. Shopping: The Pennsylvania Dutch Farmer’s Market is known locally as the "Amish Market" and located in the 290,000 sq ft. Annapolis Harbour Center. Enjoy shopping for fresh produce, a variety of salads, candy, homemade snacks, desserts, cheeses, chemical-free meats, barbecued and fried chicken, foods in bulk and even ice cream from a stand featuring Hershey’s Ice Cream. Museums: Surratt House Museum is the home of Mary Surratt, who was executed for her alleged part in the assassination plot of President Abraham Lincoln. The Calvert County Historical Society helps collect and preserve the counties history. It is located in Prince Frederick at the historic Linden. The National Gallery of Art - East Building is where you can enjoy an architectural tour with an audio commentary by I. M. Pei. You can even explore how our prehistoric past, natural environments, and maritime heritage come together to tell a unique story of the Chesapeake Bay at the Calvert Marine Museum.
Entertainment: Catch a movie at Apex Cinema or AMC Loews Theatres - St. Charles Town Center 9. Port Tobacco Players is a theatre company that was originally founded in 1947 to raise money to aid the Port Tobacco Restoration Society. They usually produce 6 to 7 shows each season for presentation at the theater and their typical season consists of a mixture of musicals, comedies, dramas and mysteries. The Warner Theater is a performing arts venue in Washington DC, that was originally built as a 1920s movie palace and is now host to plays, musicals, dance and live music. Each year, The Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall has over 600,000 people pass through its doors. It is Washington, D.C.'s largest concert hall and is owned by the DAR. It was originally built in 1929 to house its annual convention, and is now a Registered National Historic Landmark today.
Recreation: Take your family to Six Flags America, Maryland's only theme park featuring more than 100 exciting rides, slides, shows and attractions plus Hurricane Harbor water park. The Maryland Small Arms Range presents law enforcement equipment and supplies and offers a used or confiscated weapons trade-in program. The Watkins Tennis Bubble is known for its five purple indoor tennis hard courts. It is air-conditioned and allows for comfortable, indoor, year-round play. You can also enjoy family fun at National Capitol Area Bowling and Lord Calvert Bowl, or enroll your child (or yourself) at the Black Belt Academy.
